Today is officially the first day of spring, and I have started to look for new music for the season. Spring, to me, is all about freedom and air and breath and change. It's about blooming and growing. Personally, I think the music I listen to should reflect that. Spring is of a pretty happy refrain. In the past few weeks I've been listening a lot of music and I'm happy to say that I've gotten a pretty decent start on my Spring playlist. So, I'm going to share just a few of the selections I've made so far.
Jason Mraz - The Freedom Song [soon to be on his new album LOVE is a four letter word]
Zac Brown Band - No Hurry [You Get What You Give]
Karmin (Billboard Exclusive Cover) - Pumped Up Kicks [Originally by Foster the People]
Rascal Flatts - Banjo [New Single!]

Dr. Seuss(day) Tuesday
In honor of the recent box office success of the new movie, "The Lorax", I thought I'd share this list of quotes I found on pintrest. These 30 quotes are unforgettable and extremely important. Each one embodies a different lesson and is a nice reminder of not only childhood, but also how simple life lessons can be. They got me thinking and made me smile, I hope they have a similar effect on you!

Music Monday: Country Time
I was lucky enough to grow up in a house that was diverse in musical taste. My mom introduced me to a lot of disco and pop music, while my dad is the reason I fell in love with country and more acoustic music. Today I'm sharing with you some of my favorite (new) country songs. There are plenty of people who claim that country now-a-days isn't "real" country. I tend to disagree. There are artists that are not my taste, but I do love a lot of this newer age country music. You be the judge!
After picking these videos I realized I have a lot of favorites, so I'll be doing another country day real soon!

Sayings For A Sunday
March has officially arrived. February was one of the busiest months of my life, but it was a month of constant growth and learning. Hopefully, I'll have a little more time to post things now!
The past few days have been extremely grounding for me. I'm grateful for every experience, good or bad...I have to be. With gratitude, it's simple to discover that there are more good things happening than you realized. So, that's what my "theme" is for today I guess. Here are a few quotes and things I've received or found lately (on Tumblr and/or Pintrest) that I think can be extremely helpful when it's hard to find a light in the dark.
"Frustration comes from focusing on what you cannot control. Achievement, on the other hand, comes from focusing on all the useful and valuable things you can do. Resentment comes from seeing yourself as a victim. Effectiveness comes from stepping up and taking responsibility. If you constantly complain that life is unfair, you’ll blind yourself to the best opportunities. Yet by simply accepting that what’s done is done, you’ll find a way to make the most of it." - Aura Valour -

Februbusy
It's been almost a month since I've posted anything. February has been probably my busiest month ever. Two shows, work, school, life...it's been quite a ride. With not much time on my hands, I haven't really had the chance to upload or post anything. Today, I'm in rehearsal for a show that opens on Thursday, "Kiss of the Spider Woman". Hopefully, I'll have more to say about the show later this week. I have been taking pictures and trying to document things happening this month. So here's what I've been doing (with the help of some trendy instagram editing)

The Month of Love
Congratulations! We've made it through one whole month of 2012 and now we've reached the month of love: February. I don't know how your January went, but I can honestly say that mine proved to be pretty positive. So I got to thinking about why I felt like I've had a good month and realized that a lot of it had to do with attitude. I've been told too many times that when you put out positive energy, you receive it. You end up attracting positive people to you and pushing the negative ones away. I was lucky enough to spend much of January with really positive people who in some way or another kept me up and feeling grateful. With that said, I did my best to give it right back. I ended up having some incredible experiences this past month that have shaped what I hope 2012 will look like for me.
What I'm getting here is that in order to maintain this feeling of happiness and gratitude, put out positive energy. It's simple to do. It doesn't mean smiling all the time, and it doesn't mean being best friends with everyone you meet. Keep your hopes alive and your dreams in sight. Let the good things in your day out weigh the bad, and if you feel down and out remember that tomorrow is a new day! Every day is another chance to make a change in your life. Yesterday I told a friend how excited I was for February 1st. I like having the feeling of a fresh start. It keeps that positive energy going! She laughed and asked if I feel that way at the start of every, every week, every class, anything that begins. I told her, and I'm telling you, that I do try to let those moments be like trampolines that if you decide to leap on to, launch you into the unknown. Much like what I've talked about in past posts, when you let yourself fall (or fly in this instance) you are letting yourself experience new things. With each new things comes a new beginning and with each beginning comes a fresh positive start.
So I hope that you take this opportunity to really jump into February like a fresh start. Smile, have fun, enjoy, learn, grow, give, get, and put out some positive vibes...you never know what might happen!
Today I'm sharing with you something I discovered a few months back. It's a blog called 1000 Awesome Things and it was later turned into a book called "The Book of Awesome" Just scrolling through the site, you end up smiling and feeling good because...well these things are awesome even if they're so simple!
Happy February!
